Please note: All Red Light Hockey programs require players to provide their own full equipment. This includes, but is not limited to: a CSA-approved helmet with full face mask, skates, hockey stick, neck guard, shoulder pads/chest protector, elbow pads, gloves, hockey pants, shin guards, protective cup, jersey, and hockey socks. Excellent Ice does not have any equipment for loan or rental.

Tots Hockey (Ages 3 to 6)
A perfect first step into the world of hockey for beginner players! Young skaters learn essential skills like balance, passing, and puck-handling in a fun, encouraging environment. Each session focuses on building confidence while introducing teamwork through play.
Full gear required. Pre-requisite: Completed Level 2 of Learn to Skate.

Power Skating (Ages 6 to 10)
Perfect for beginner to intermediate players, this class builds a strong skating foundation with focus on stride technique, balance, and edge control. Players will develop speed, stability, and confidence through fun, focused drills designed to improve every stride. A great confidence-builder for developing skaters ready to strengthen their fundamentals.

Power Skating with Pucks (Ages 6 to 10)
Designed for intermediate to advanced players, this program adds puck control to high-speed skating drills. A fast-paced class that builds smooth, controlled movement with the puck.

Shooting Puck Control (Ages 8 to 12)

Ideal for players aiming to build confidence and dominate offensively with stronger, more reliable scoring skills.

High Performance Hockey (Ages 8 to 12)

Darin Vetterl
Darin Vetterl is a Level 4 USA Certified Coach and has been the Head Instructor at Excellent Ice since 2006. He has coached players of all ages and skill levels from Minor Hockey, Junior, to University players. Throughout his over 30 years of coaching and training experience, he has coached hockey players throughout Vancouver, USA, and Australia. Darin continues to put programs together that fit the needs of all players in our community.
