Learn the basics of figure skating with Head Instructor Trina Jackson. Trina has over 30 years of teaching experience. Her background includes: Gold Level Figure & Freestyle Skater, Senior Silver Dancer, National Synchronized Competitive Skater, as well as being a Competitive Singles Skater. She is also Skate Canada NCCP Certified and holds a valid Red Cross Standard First Aid certificate.
Students will learn how to do single jumps, turns, spins, stroking, footwork and put skating movements together in a sequence. This program is designed to add another dimension to your child’s skating experience.
Students must be at a high level 3 according to our Learn to Skate program to participate. If you are unsure of your child’s current level please speak to Trina. Students must have figure skates and may wear figure skating attire but it is not required. For safety purposes, CSA approved helmets with facemasks are mandatory and knee pads are recommended. Bike helmets do not provide the required protection and are not acceptable.
